Correction, Retraction and Withdrawal

The policy of International Journal of Care Scholars (IJCS) for this section are based on its specific condition.

          1. Erratum (Publisher Correction)

An erratum pertains to the rectification of errors introduced to the article by the publisher. During the proof stage, all alterations made by the publisher are highlighted to the author, with any errors ideally pinpointed by the author and rectified by the publisher before final publication. Errata should be issued for scientifically significant formatting alterations or changes to authorship, such as instances where a deserving author has been excluded or someone who doesn't meet authorship criteria has been included. Scientifically relevant formatting issues that necessitate an erratum might involve missing or unclear figures, or errors introduced during proofreading, such as missing text. Minor errors that do not impact readability or significance, like spelling or grammatical errors, do not warrant an erratum. It's imperative for all authors to meticulously proofread the final version.

          2. Corrigendum (Author Correction)

A corrigendum denotes a modification to an article that the author intends to publish subsequent to acceptance. Authors are advised to reach out to the journal's editor, who will assess the impact of the change and determine the appropriate course of action. IJCS will only initiate a corrigendum to a published article upon receiving endorsement and instructions from the editor. Author Name Change Policy: In some instances, authors may desire to alter their name post-publication. In such cases, IJCS will revise and reissue the article, updating the metadata accordingly for indexing services (please note that all updates are subject to the policies of the databases). Recognizing that name changes can be sensitive or private due to various reasons such as gender identity alignment, marriage, divorce, or religious conversion, our teams are mindful of protecting author identity. Consequently, an erratum will not be issued, and co-authors will not be informed.

          3. Retraction

Alerting about incorrect findings that could compromise the credibility of a previously released publication. Even though the initial publication has been withdrawn, it remains accessible to readers, and the retraction statement, which notifies readers of the unreliability of the published work, is linked back to the original document.

          4. Addendum

If essential findings (such as additional affiliations or clarifications regarding certain methodological aspects or analyses) were inadvertently excluded from the original publication, the original article can be supplemented with an Addendum detailing these previously overlooked results. The Addendum will be published in the current issue of the journal, with assigned article numbers. Additionally, a hyperlink to the Addendum will be appended to the original publication; however, the original paper itself does not require updating.

          5. Article Removal

In extremely rare situations where issues are of a grave nature and cannot be addressed through a retraction or correction notice, an article removal will be initiated. IJCS will contemplate the removal of a published article only under highly limited circumstances, such as:

  • Presence of content in the article that could potentially pose a significant risk if followed or acted upon.
  • Infringement upon the privacy rights of study participants.
  • Defamatory content or infringement upon other legal rights within the article.
  • Compliance with a court order mandating the removal of the article.

If an article is removed from IJCS, a notice of removal will be issued in its stead.

          6. Withdrawal Policy

The author may withdraw their submission by submitting a reasonable request via email or by directly contacting the editor.
