Plagiarism Policy

The plagiarism check is intended to uphold standards of originality, innovation and novelty. Each of the article submitted to the International Journal of Care Scholars (IJCS) will be screened for plagiarism before undergoing a peer-review process, by using plagiarism screening such as Turnitin, with a maximum allowable similarity score of 20%. Article submitted to IJCS will be subjected to TWO plagiarism checks: one upon submission and another before the layout process (copyediting).

Works free from plagiarism must meet these criteria:

  1. When referencing other indirectly, ensure quotes are effectively paraphrased using original language rather than directly copying or transcribing the source. Properly document all sources in accordance with scientific writing conventions.
  2. When including a direct quotation, enclose the exact words from the original source in quotation marks if it's less than 40 words. For quotes exceeding 40 words, indent the paragraph and use a different font size.
  3. It's essential to cite the source when incorporating others' ideas, whether from published or unpublished works, oral or written sources, and across various forms of media.
