Abstract

A new symmetric cryptosystem based on permutation matrices is proposed. In this paper, the encryption and decryption
algorithms were built upon random multiple selection of the elements in the permutation matrix. This technique promotes the
confusion, diffusion, and increases the complexity of proposed algorithms. The security and performance of the proposed
cryptosystem is evaluated.
