Abstract

Fast-food consumption among children is becoming problematic. This scenario is happening because fast-food products are conveniently accessible, whether in a restaurant, shopping complex, convenient shop and street stall. Consuming fast food contributes to the growth of the obesity problem among children. Subsequently, this research is focusing on the intake of fast food among children according to the Shariah perspective. To achieve the objective, this study applies library research analysis on related documents and Shariah rulings on fast-food consumption. The result signifies Shariah rulings on consuming fast food towards Halal lifestyle depends on the pattern of consumption and its effects on consumers, whether mubah (permissible), makruh (abominable) or haram (prohibited).
