Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • Check the plagiarism policy before submitting your manuscript.

Author Guidelines

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Halalsphere receives and welcomes manuscripts and research papers that were not published or not submitted for publication elsewhere. Authors of the submitted manuscripts are required to comply with the following guidelines;

  1. The length of the submitted manuscript should be 5,000 - 8,000 words, with an abstract of 100-150 words, followed by four to five keywords. The concise abstract should present the manuscript’s contents accurately and should supplement, not duplicate.
  2. The manuscript should include introduction, sections for materials and methods, results, discussion, and acknowledgements, plus references, tables, figure captions, and appendices, in that order.
  3. A manuscript should contain a title page, which should be the first page. The title of the manuscript is expected to be clear and as concise as possible, desirably not more than 30 characters.
  4. The manuscript should be double spaced with a 1 in (2.5 cm) margins. Use 12-point Times New Roman Font. Material that is to be set in italics, use an italic font. Making bold is accepted only for titles and subtitles. Underline of any sentence or word is not accepted. Use capital letters only when the letters or words should appear in capitals.
  5. Manuscripts should adhere to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, latest edition. For further information on citation and reference style, please visit http://www.apastyle.org/
  6. Only English translations of Quranic verses and prophetic narration are accepted.

Review Articles

Review articles - will be accepted in all areas of halal research. Review articles focused on recent literature published (for example, over the previous 2-5 years) as well as comprehensive and definitive reviews will be considered.Review papers must contain critical assessment of literature and may also contains author's views on the subject. There are no word counts and reference numbers limit but must be more than 8000 words for review papers.

 

Short Communications

Short Communications are limited to 3000 words and are not subdivided. The paper should contain an abstract, main body and references, and contain no more than 6 figures or tables, combined. The abstract is limited to 100 words.

Case Studies

Case studies usually present a major programme intervention or policy option relevant to the journal field. Manuscripts that include a rigorous assessment of the processes and the impact of the study, as well as recommendations for the future, will generally be considered favourably.
