Phenomenon of the Masses: A Futuristic and Maqasidic Approaches

الملخص

Abstract

The researcher tries to uncover the description of the masses from the perspective of the Fiqh such as the ordinary people, the mobs and the proletariat which were mentioned in the books of Fiqh. The paper also aims at establishing the Maqasidic dimension in the perspectives of the Shariah on the masses of the society as observed in Quranic verses and some prophetic texts. It also strives to explain the phenomenon of the rise of the masses, their conditions and causes without ignoring the modern technical term known as the hypothetical masses. This is in addition to discussing the most important causes and the transforming dimensions that came upon the identity and thought after the proliferation of this term and its transformation into a reality that governs the relations inter societies. It is also meant to focus on the effect of the stable and dynamic concept in the collective behavior of the masses.

Abstrak

Kajian ini cuba mengenalpasti gambaran fiqh tentang “khalayak ramai” yang terdiri daripada rakyat biasa, penyangak mahupun samseng yang disebutkan dalam kitab-kitab fiqh. Ianya juga menunjukkan sudut maqasid terhadap orang ramai berpandukan ayat-ayat al-Qur’an dan Hadith. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menerang fenomena perkembangan massa dan keadaan dan kesannya tanpa mengabaikan istilah teknikal baru yang dikenali sebagai “khalayak maya”. Disamping itu, kajian membincangkan pengaruh dan demensi perubahan yang paling penting yang berlaku kepada identiti, pemikiran selepas penyebaran istilah ini dan menjadikannya sebagai realiti sebenar yang mengawal perhubungan masyarakat. Kajian juga berfokus kepada kesan gambaran kekal dan berubah-ubah dalam sikap dan tingkah laku orang ramai.
