At-Tajdid Biannual Journal: Peer Review Process Statement

At-Tajdid Biannual Journal is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and scholarly excellence. Our peer review process is designed to ensure the quality, originality, and relevance of the research we publish. Below is a detailed outline of our peer review process:

Submission and Initial Evaluation

  1. Submission: Manuscripts are submitted through our online submission system. Authors must ensure that their manuscripts comply with the journal's submission guidelines and ethical standards.
  2. Initial Screening: Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial screening by the editorial team. The purpose of this screening is to ensure that the manuscript fits within the scope of the journal, adheres to the basic requirements, and is free from plagiarism.

Peer Review Process

  1. Assignment to Editor: Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to an appropriate Associate Editor who has expertise in the relevant field.
  2. Reviewer Selection: The Associate Editor selects at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the subject matter of the manuscript. Reviewers are chosen based on their academic qualifications, research expertise, and prior experience in peer reviewing.
  3. Double-Blind Review: At-Tajdid Biannual Journal employs a double-blind review process, where both the reviewers and the authors remain anonymous to each other. This ensures impartiality and minimizes potential biases.
  4. Review Process: Reviewers are given 4-6 weeks to evaluate the manuscript. They assess the manuscript based on the following criteria:
    • Originality and contribution to the field
    • Clarity and coherence of the argument
    • Methodological rigor
    • Relevance and significance of the findings
    • Adequacy of references and citations
    • Overall quality of writing
  5. Reviewer Reports: Reviewers provide detailed reports with constructive feedback and recommendations. They may recommend one of the following actions:
    • Accept without revisions
    • Accept with minor revisions
    • Major revisions required
    • Reject

Editorial Decision

  1. Editorial Assessment: The Editor reviews the reports from the reviewers and makes a preliminary decision. In cases where reviewers have conflicting recommendations, an additional reviewer may be consulted.
  2. Author Revision: If revisions are required, the manuscript is returned to the authors for modification. Authors are given a specified time frame to address the reviewers' comments and resubmit the revised manuscript.
  3. Final Decision: Once the revised manuscript is resubmitted, the Associate Editor evaluates the changes. The manuscript may be sent back to the reviewers for a second round of review if necessary. The final decision to accept or reject the manuscript is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on the Editor's recommendation and the reviewers' feedback.

Post-Acceptance

  1. Copyediting and Proofreading: Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting and proofreading to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to the journal's style guide.
  2. Publication: The final version of the manuscript is prepared for publication. Authors are notified of the publication date, and the manuscript is published in the forthcoming issue of At-Tajdid Biannual Journal.
