يعد علي أحمد باكثير من أهم الأدباء الرواد لحركة التجديد في الشعر العربي الحديث أو ما عرف بالشعر الحر. وقد تنوعت مواهبه الأدبية، كما تنوع إسهامه في أنماط القول الأدبي المختلفة من الشعر والمسرح والرواية، وقد غلب عليه روح الشعر وأسلوبه في في كل إنتاجه الأدبي. وإذا كان الشعر الجديد قد سعى للخروج عن معهود الشعر العربي وزنًا وأسلوبًا وموضوعًا، فإن ولادته لم تكن سهلة إذ واجه صعوبات جمة وخاصة فيما يتعلق بالتخلص من بالقوالب والأوزان الشعرية. وقد كان النقادإزاءه  واحدًا من ثلاثة: مناهض له متشدد، ومرتاب متوجس، ومناصر مؤيد يعي أهمية هذه التجربة الشعرية الجديدة. ولقد علي أحمد باكثير في القلب من معركة الشعر العربي الجديد بإبداعه الشعري وبآرائه النقدية في الوقت نفسه. ولذلك يحاول هذا المقال الكشف عن وعي ضرورة التجديد وحداثة الوعي عند باكثير وقراءة الخطوط والخصائص العامة لمشروعه الشعري وما انطوى عليه من تجربة فنية استفادها من ثقافته الأدبية الغنية المتنوعة، كما ينظر في آرائه في دفاعه عن أنموذجه الشعري الجديد ويبرز كذلك ما انتهى إليه من موقف نقدي إزاء هذا الشعر، ألا وهو ضرورة اتصاله اتصالاً إيجابيًّا بالتراث الشعري العربي فلا يكون تنكرًا له وثورة عليه.

Abstract

Ali Ahmed Bakathir is one of the men of letters who pioneered the movement of modern Arabic poetry of free verse poetry. A man of variegated talents, his contributions covered all genres of literary production, with the poetic spirit and style stamping all his works. Since the new poetry strove to go beyond the conventions of classical Arabic poetry in rhyme and style as well as in theme and conceit, its birth faced serious difficulties, especially in respect of breaking off the metrical patterns of classical poetry. Literary critics were of one of three: staunch conservative rejecting it all together, a doubtful with apprehension, and a supportive realizing the significance of the new poetic experience. Ali Ahmed Bakathir was in the heart of the struggle for this new Arabic poetry both with his poetic creations and his critical views. In view of this, this article attempts to uncover Bakathir’s modern consciousness and realization of the need for renewal and to read into the main dimensions and general features of his poetic project. It is also an attempt at shedding light on his artistic experience which was shaped by his vast and rich literary culture. Similarly, the article examines Bakathir’s defense of his new poetics and at the same brings to the fore his critical view in respect thereof whereby he insists that it should be positively connected with the legacy of classical Arabic, thus not turning away from, and revolting against, it.

                    Abstrak

Ali Ahmed Bakathir adalah salah seorang daripada tokoh persuratan yang mempelopori pergerakan moden puisi Arab dengan rangkap puisi bebas. Beliau merupakan penyair yang mempunyai banyak kebolehan, sumbangannya meliputi semua genre sastera, dengan semangat yang puitis dan gaya tersendiri dalam semua karyanya. Sejak puisi moden berusaha untuk lari dari konvensyen klasik puisi Arab dengan rima dan gaya serta tema dan tajuknya, kehadirannya menghadapi masalah yang getir, terutama apabila ia terkeluar dari irama puisi klasik. Pengkritik sastera termasuk dalam salah satu tiga kategori: mereka yang konservatif melampau menolak semuanya, yang ragu cuba untuk memahaminya, dan yang menyokongn pula menyedari kepentingan usaha di sebalik bentuk puisi baru. Ali Ahmed Bakathir berada di tengah-tengah perjuangan puisi Arab baru ini dengan  ciptaan puisi dan pandangannya yang kritikal. Sehubungan itu, artikel ini mencuba untuk menjelaskan kesedaran baru Bakathir dan  keperluan untuk merealisasikan pembaharuan tersebut, dan ia juga membaca dalam dimensi utama dan ciri-ciri umum usaha puisi beliau. Ia juga merupakan suatu cubaan untuk menerangkan pengalaman artistik beliau yang dibentuk oleh budaya sastera yang luas dan kaya. Begitu juga, artikel ini mengkaji cubaan Bakathir dalam mempertahankan puisi baru dan pada masa yang sama membawanya ke hadapan bersama pandangannya yang kritis di mana beliau menegaskan bahawa ia sepatutnya diterima secara positif sebagai sebahagian dari warisan Arab klasik, dengan itu ia tidak menyimpang dan menolak warisan dahalu.
