(The Volume of Relative Contribution of Obsessive Rumination in Cognitive Distortions among Female Students of Umm al-Qura University)

Abstract
The research aimed to identify level of Cognitive Distortions (Dichotomous Thinking, Overgeneralizing, Catastrophizing, Magnification, Minimizing, selective abstraction and Personalization) among female students of Umm Al-Qura University, it also aimed to identify level of obsessive Rumination (negative thoughts, results of negative thinking, negative emotions, negative emotions and meditation) among them, and to find the relation between them, and to detect the statically significant variations between Cognitive distortion levels (high-low) in obsessive Rumination among the students, it also aimed to identify the volume of relative contribution of obsessive Rumination in Cognitive Distortions among the students, approach used is "descriptive, correlation, differential approach" on the group sample of (470) female students of Literature and scientific section. Scales applied were, Nolen-Hoeksema 1991 scale of obsessive Rumination and Cognitive Distortions scales by Lamiaa Salah El Din (2015). Results: level of obsessive Rumination is generally at intermediate level, level of Cognitive Distortions is generally low, there is a significant positive correlation between the obsessive Rumination and Cognitive Distortions. (F) value of the regression coefficient’s significant is a significant that mean the accuracy of predicting Cognitive Distortions through the aspects of obsessive Rumination.
