Abstract

Abstract

The religious premise was, and still is, the main motive behind the reception of non-Arabic-speaking Islamic peoples towards learning Arabic. The Arabic language gained honor and preference due to its association with the Holy Qur’an, until its learning became obligatory because the Holy Qur’an cannot be understood without learning Arabic. However, the reality of the teaching of the Arabic language today witnessed a dangerous transformation due to the state of weakness and humiliation that beset the Arab and Islamic nation, after the Arab lost its prestige and its place in the hearts of Muslims, and it lost its ability to impose its control in the homes of Muslims and the competition of the English and French even in its own door, the religious approach shift Which was a reliable dependency in teaching the Arabic language to a demolition pick, because after the students of science in the past were competing to learn the Arabic language because it is the only way to learn Islamic law, today students become alienated from learning the Arabic language and leave to others because it is only suitable for learning Islamic rent. Hence this paper comes to address the problem of teaching the Arabic language from a religious standpoint, by examining the linguistic reality of teaching Arabic in Malaysia, and researching the reasons behind the spread of the phenomenon of lack of awareness among Malaysian students towards the Arabic language, which made them lose a sense of belonging to Arabic Its culture and society. The study stresses in the conclusion of the research the need to correct the wrong inferior view towards the Arabic language, and to convince the learners that the Arabic language is not only a language of religion, but a language, religion and life.
