Abstract
This study aims to investigate the topic of dynamic functions between Arabic prepositions to show the meaning of forsaking something and to show the examples thereof. The descriptive approach is used for investigating the research topic in the Holy Quran then carefully describing and classifying it through analysis and comparison. Among the most important conclusions of the study are: dynamic functions between prepositions is a constant linguistic feature. It was discussed by many grammarians, lingusits and exegesis (Tafsir) scholars in addition to what is found in the verses of the holy Quran. Therefore, it should not be denied or neglected especially if it invloves the interpretation of the Quran; prepositions in Quranic verses were not merely confined to their original meaning as the changing of meanings through synonimous relations were also commonly being used to refer to certain meanings; there is no specific rule for changing meanings between prepositions to take place. Synonymity and the change of meanings are sometimes attributable to dialects or the closeness between the meanings and the context.
