About the Journal

IIUM Journal of Orofacial and Health Sciences (IJOHS) is a peer-reviewed, biannual international journal, publishing two issues annually in February and July since 2021. The journal is dedicated to publishing high-quality scientific research in orofacial sciences, health sciences, and related interdisciplinary fields, encompassing basic, applied, and clinical research.

IJOHS welcomes the following types of submissions;

• original research
• review articles
• case reports
• technical reports
• letter to the editor

Focus and Scope:

• dental sciences
• oral microbiology and immunology
• oral maxillofacial and craniofacial surgery and imaging
• dental stem cells and regenerative medicine
• dental biomaterial
• oral maxillofacial genetic and craniofacial deformities
• dental public health
• health sciences

Peer Review Process: All types of submissions will be subjected to a double-blinded peer-review process (neither authors nor reviewers know each other's name or affiliations), except for the submission under the category of 'Letter to Editor'. The latter will be reviewed by the Editorial team.

Each submission will go through the following processes:

• Technical, content, and plagiarism and AI screening (only articles with a similarity index of less than 25% will proceed with the peer-review process).
• Double-blind review
• Revision by the author (if required)
• Section Editor screening/decision
• Acceptance and publication

Publishing with IJOHS is entirely free of charge.

We do not levy submission fees or Article Processing Charges (APCs), ensuring that editorial decisions remain unbiased by financial interests. Once published, all articles are available to the public at no cost.
