JOP follows a peer-review policy to ensure that every manuscript meets the highest standards before publication. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise and research interests relevant to the submitted manuscript, providing feedback on originality, validity, and significance to assist editors in evaluating its suitability for publication. The assigned reviewer should not be part of the journal’s editorial team.

A double-blind review system is employed, with at least two reviewers per manuscript, to maintain academic integrity and credibility.

Editorial Responsibility:

  • Overall editorial oversight lies with the Editor-in-Chief (Editorial Office).

  • Section Editors manage manuscripts within their sections, overseeing submission, review, and revisions. They communicate with authors and reviewers and have the final decision on acceptance or rejection.

Post-Acceptance:

  • Once a manuscript is accepted, it proceeds to the Copyeditor, who ensures language clarity, grammar, style consistency, and formatting according to journal guidelines, followed by preparation for online and print publication.

The workflow for submission to JOP is as follows:

Editorial Decision Options

It is important to note that the steps outlined represent one round of the peer-review process. The JOP Editorial Office carefully considers the feedback provided by the peer reviewers before reaching a decision. The possible editorial decisions include:

  • Accept Submission: The manuscript meets the journal’s standards and is ready for publication.
  • Revisions Required: The manuscript requires minor revision and will be accepted after amendment.
  • Resubmit for Review: The manuscript requires substantial revisions and will undergo an additional round of peer review upon resubmission.
  • Resubmit Elsewhere: The manuscript is not suitable for publication in this journal, but may be considered for submission to another journal.
  • Decline Submission: The manuscript does not meet the journal’s standards and is rejected outright.
