International Journal of Allied Health Sciences (IJAHS) is a peer-reviewed, English-language scholarly online journal, published biannually in January and July, fully supported by the Kulliyyah of Allied Health Sciences, International Islamic University Malaysia. The journal does not charge any Article Processing Charges (APCs) or submission fees to authors. No subscription fees, advertising, or reprint sales are involved in funding the journal.

 OBJECTIVES

  The main objectives of this journal are to; 

  • Support Allied Health Sciences professionals in their research dissemination and article writing.
  • Offer opportunities to review and share knowledge related to research and professional interests.
  • Enable academics and researchers to enhance their intellectual engagement through this journal.

AREA OF COVERAGE

This journal serves as a dynamic platform for academics to elevate their scholarly pursuits through the review and submission of research articles. It encompasses a wide range of disciplines, including Nutrition & Dietetics, Medical Imaging, Biomedical Sciences, Physiotherapy, Speech & Audiology, and Optometry.

In the realm of Nutrition & Dietetics, the journal delves into various sub-disciplines such as Anthropometric, Biochemical, and Clinical Nutritional Status Assessments. The field of Medical Imaging is expansively covered, highlighting Radiographic Techniques and specialized areas like Body, Breast, Musculoskeletal, Cardiovascular, and Pediatric Imaging.

Biomedical Sciences is another key focus, exploring diverse topics from Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Immunology, and Biomedical Engineering to Biophysics, Biotechnology, Cell Biology, Embryology, Endocrinology, Genetics, Medicinal/Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Microbiology, Parasitology, Pharmacology, Physiology, and Toxicology.

The journal also addresses the multifaceted aspects of Physiotherapy, including Rehabilitation, Physical Therapy, and various approaches in Physiotherapy. In the domain of Speech & Audiology, it covers Clinical Audiology, Educational Speech-Language Pathology, and Speech Therapy, providing a comprehensive view of these fields.

Lastly, Optometry is explored through lenses such as Clinical and Industrial Optometry, along with discussions on broader Optometry issues. OPEN ACCESS POLICY

International Journal of Allied Health Sciences (IJAHS) is an open access online journal based on the OJS system. All content in it is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles in this Journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access.

ETHICAL STATEMENT

IJAHS is committed to upholding the highest ethical standards in all aspects of its publication process. As a peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal, we emphasize transparency, integrity, and academic honesty to foster the trust and credibility of the scientific community.

This journal adheres to the Policies and Guidelines for IIUM Journal Publication. These policies govern all aspects of journal operations, including editorial management, peer review, publication ethics, copyright, and quality control. The journal is published by IIUM Press, which holds copyright to all IIUM journal publications.

ARCHIVING POLICY

The International Journal of Allied Health Sciences (IJAHS) uses the Public Knowledge Project’s Preservation Network (PKP PN) to digitally preserve all published content. The PKP PN provides a free preservation service that ensures the long-term availability of journal content in the event the journal is no longer published or becomes otherwise unavailable.

MODE OF PUBLICATION

International Journal of Allied Health Sciences (IJAHS) is published biannually with one or two special issues depending on conferences etc. It is only available online in PDF format.

INDEXING

The International Journal of Allied Health Sciences (IJAHS) is currently indexed in MyCite (Malaysian Citation Index) and ensures global discoverability of its articles through major academic search engines. The journal is committed to continuous quality improvement and internationalisation, and is on a structured pathway towards inclusion in leading international indexing databases, including Scopus and the Web of Science Core Collection.
