Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

INSTRUCTION TO AUTHORS AND ARTICLE REVIEW PROCESS

 All research manuscripts will be reviewed by the editorial team members and, if manuscript is found suitable by the reviewers for publication in the International Journal of Allied Health Sciences (IJAHS). The manuscripts will be only then sent to at least two reviewers for double blind peer review. The article will be further processed based on the reviewers recommendations, the decision will be made by the editor whether or not the paper should be accepted, revised or rejected.

COPYRIGHT TRANSFER FORM

It is mandatory for the potential authors to use the prescribed copyright form which can be found on the journal website. The copyright form must be signed by all contributing authors and scanned and uploaded at the time of submission of the manuscript.

PERMISSIONS FROM SOURCES

The authors are expected to properly quote and give full credibility to the original source. Furthermore, take written permissions where the photograph and figures used and might be source/reason of violation of copyrights. The prospective authors are advised to visit the blog on ethics of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) (http://www.publicationethics.org/)

FINAL SUBMISSION

The potential authors are required to strictly follow the instruction in the subsequent sections in order to avoid unnecessary delay in the reviewing process and publication.

MANUSCRIPT REQUIREMENTS

The IIJAHS will follow the format of American Psychological Association (APA) style for sections of the manuscripts. The Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association is the style manual for authors. It provides invaluable guidance on all aspects of the writing process, from the ethics of authorship to the word choice that best reduces bias in language.  Well-known for its authoritative and easy-to-use reference and citation system, the Publication Manual also offers guidance on choosing the headings, tables, figures, and tone that will result in strong, simple, and elegant scientific communication. The information can be accessed on https://apastyle.apa.org/products/publication-manual-7th-edition. The following are the general requirements for manuscript writing to IIJAHS;

MANUSCRIPT LENGTH

The manuscript submitted to the IIJAHS must be in 3500-4000 words only inclusive of all sections i.e. titles, headings, endnotes, tables and figures titles, acknowledgements, and references. In the initial review the manuscript will be strictly screened for the length/number of words counts. Should the manuscript submitted to IIJAHS exceeds 3500 - 4000 words would be declined from further reviewing process.

MANUSCRIPT TITLE AND RUNNING TITLE

The manuscript title must be only 18 - 22 words using sentence case (Book Antiqua Font Size 14). Examples;

Title: Religious Fasting: An Alternative Approach to Improve Hyperlipidaemia

The running title must be 8 -12 words using sentence case (Book Antiqua Font Size 10). Examples;

Running Title: Religious Fasting: An Alternative Approach to...

MANUSCRIPT TITLE PAGE AND AUTHORS DETAILS

The authors are required to submit separate authors page along-with highest degrees, affiliations, emails & mailing addresses, and clearly indicating the corresponding author's name. Example;

 MANUSCRIPT ABSTRACT

The manuscript abstract should have introduction, objective/aims, methodology, results, conclusion and implications imbued in one paragraph without headings & subheadings. The total length of abstract must not exceed than 300 words.

MANUSCRIPT KEYWORDS

A minimum of three and maximum of six keywords are mandatory in the article.

 MANUSCRIPT HEADINGS

All headings should be bold uppercase and all sub-headings should be bold lowercase. The body should have Introduction, Materials & Methods, Results (separate) Discussion (separate), Conclusions, Acknowledgement and References.

MANUSCRIPT FIGURES

The figures must be numbered in sequence as it appears in the text and format follow the example;

The Tables must be numbered in sequence as it appears in the text and the format is as followed;

MANUSCRIPT REFERENCES

The in text format should be strictly followed according to the APA style for example Khan and Khattak, 2002) or Zaman,  et al., 2002).

  1. Cover letter (A letter to the Editor about the submission)
  2. Cover Page (Containing title, authors names and affiliations
  3. Full article without authors name and affiliations (3500-4000 words only)
  4. Copyright transfer form
  5. Permission from sources (only in case using pictures or figure from published work)

 THE PEER REVIEW PROCESS

Each manuscript will undergo a double blind review.
