Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The manuscript must not have been previously published and should not be under consideration by another journal. If there are any exceptions to this rule, please provide a detailed explanation in the "Comments to the Editor" section.
  • The submission must use the JoCTH Template and the file should be in Word file (.docx/.doc) with approximately 5,000–8,000 words.
  • Use British English consistently throughout the manuscript.
  • Include a structured abstract of no more than 250 words.
  • Format all references according to APA 7th Edition guidelines.
  • Ensure that all figures and tables are embedded in the manuscript.
  • The submission consist of
    1. Author Listed Version: Manuscript with the authors' names and affiliations included.
    2. Blind Review Version: Manuscript without authors' names, affiliations, or acknowledgements. Please remove any information that may identify the authors.
    3. Plagiarism Check: A turnitin report with a similarity index of ≤ 15%.
    4. Proofreading Documentation: A proofreading report or a Grammarly report.

Author Guidelines

MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION

  • Use the official Journal Article Template (click here) when preparing the manuscript.
  • The Reviewer Form (click here) is also provided as a reference to help authors ensure that their manuscripts meet the journal's requirements before submission.

ADMINISTRATIVE FEE

  • JoCTH does not charge an Article Processing Charge (APC). However, an administrative fee is applicable to each submission.
  • The applicable fee is determined based on the authors' affiliations:
    1. All authors with no affiliation with industry players, government sectors, or international collaborators - RM100
    2. Articles with at least one author affiliated with an industry player, government sector, or international collaborator - RM50

PAYMENT TERMS

  • Payment is required upon acceptance of the manuscript and is non-refundable.
  • The publication process will proceed only after the applicable administrative fee has been fully paid.
  • Payment is considered complete only after both the payment fee and proof of payment have been submitted through the Administrative Payment Form (click here).
  • Payment does not guarantee acceptance or publication. Manuscripts remain subject to the journal's editorial and peer-review processes.

PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS

Authors may make payment through IIUM EzPay Payment Portal (click here).

  1. Enter the payer's information in the payment details form.
  2. Enter the correct administrative fee based on the applicable category above.
  3. Select your preferred payment method. The following payment methods are accepted:
    - FPX: Financial Process Exchange (Savings / Current / Credit Card)
    - E-Wallet: Boost, GrabPay, Touch 'n Go eWallet, or ShopeePay
    - Credit Card: Available for cards issued internationally
  4. Complete the payment by following the instructions displayed on the payment page.
  5. In the "Reference" field, enter: JoCTH <YOUR FIRST NAME> Example: If your first name is Aisyah, enter "JoCTH AISYAH".
  6. Upload the payment receipt through the Administrative Payment Form (click here).
  7. Ensure that all required information and documents have been submitted successfully.

Important Note
Authors are advised to retain a copy of the payment receipt for their records. The editorial office will verify the payment and proof of payment before proceeding with the next stage of the publication process.
