The sharing economy, a model that fosters resource optimization, collaboration, and efficiency, represents a new frontier in economic models. However, its alignment and implications within the framework of Islamic principles and values have not been extensively explored. There exists a significant gap in understanding how the sharing economy can coexist with, and benefit from, Islamic contexts. This gap limits the development of economic systems that are both inclusive and adhere to Islamic values. This study seeks to explore the sharing economy from an Islamic perspective, aiming to fill this knowledge gap and offer insights into adapting it in ways that align with Islamic principles. This endeavour is, to the researchers’ knowledge, a pioneering effort in conducting a comprehensive bibliometric analysis in the realm of the sharing economy. Thus, this study stands as a pivotal initial step towards developing robust frameworks that integrate the sharing economy with Islamic principles, paving the way for future research in this area.
