However, there are a lot of barriers to implement the program due to lack of understanding within the community and misperception of its objectives. Therefore, a systematic review was conducted to summarise the effects of sex education in health promotion and teenage behavior. Review identification was performed in a database search using PubMed, Scopus, and CINAHL. Based on the criteria consisting of full papers in English published from January 2011 to November 2021, 36 articles were eligible for review. The systematic review revealed that sexuality education benefits the teenagers and the institution with regards to the prevention of unintended sexual intercourse, sexual harrasment and other high risk behavior. Awareness and active roles, mainly among families, teachers, community leaders, religious authorities, and community leaders, should be enhanced further in order to help establish a beneficial and effective national sexuality education program.

}, number={1}, journal={INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCES}, author={SHALIHIN, MOHD SHAIFUL EHSAN BIN and MOHD RAZIB, MOHD ZHAFRI and MAHADI, FATIN HANANI and HARUN, NAJLA and SUHAIMI, NURUL FARIHAH NA’IMI}, year={2023}, month={Jan.}, pages={2853–2862} }
