Among the conclusions are: that the appearance of Shi’ism in Malaysia was the aftermath of the Iranian Revolution in 1979. This had led to some tensions between them and the local religious authorities in Malaysia. Eventually this had led to the banning of Shia in 1996 though the number of its followers keep on increasing day by day.

Keywords: Shi'ism, Shī‘ah, Malaysia, Malaysian society.
2019-06-30T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c) الحِجَاج في شعر أحمد مطر 2019-07-01T12:44:01+08:00 Zayed Khawaledah (زايد محمد ارحيمة الخوالدة)
Abstract

The study tries to trace the argumentation mechanisms in the poem of Ahmad Matar to establish a view that it is possible for a poem to contain argumentation mechanisms as the result of certain belief of the poet of which he would like to influence and assert on his audience. Since Ahmad is a rebellious and resentful towards the reality, he tries to uncover the pain, distress, poverty, lie and power that were practised by the authorities towards their subjects. Thus, he tries to change the reality by convincing his audience with the truth about these authorities through his poems by including several argumentation mechanisms as found in the argumentative conjunctions and other extra linguistic devices such as irony, question, dialogue and intertextuality. The researcher views that irony and intertextuality have argumentative dimension due to what they project in terms of contradictions and contrasts that happened to be the fundamentals of argumentation. In this light the poet resorts to it to influence his audience and assert his view on certain issue.

Keywords: Poem, Argumentation, Ahmad Matar, Rejection, Rebellion.
Abstract

The research seeks to critique the historical novels of the Ali Ahmad Bakathir and Jurji Zaydan between the artistic imageries and historical objectivity. It is a gift given to the bride at the beginning of their new life. In spite of the noble purpose of dowry in the Islamic system, its nobility is affected by a custom practiced by the Muslim community of Sri Lanka known as the kaikoli. This tradition has spread amongst many Muslims and had negatively affected them in a significant way. There are studies which highlighted this from the social perspective and its negative effects on family members but to the best of the researcher’s knowledge, there has not been any study of the issue from the perspective of Fiqh. Therefore, there is a need to study and explain the judgement on kaikoli from the perspective of Fiqh and the real situation in Sri Lanka. This study tries to take on the issue through the analytical deductive and evaluative method in discussing and interpreting the issue to realize the best possible answer and explanation. Among the most important conclusions of the study are: kaikoli is a negative custom and foreign to Islam and a violation of its marital system. Therefore, to give kaikoli or requesting or acquiring it is forbidden in Islam as it negatively affect the society.

Keywords: Dowry, Kaikoli, Wedding, Sri Lanka
2019-06-30T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c) الهدي النبوي في الأسماء 2019-07-01T12:47:41+08:00 Islam Tazaza (إسلام حسن محمد طزازة)
Abstract

The study touches on the Prophetic Tradition in selecting names to indicate the significance of selecting names in Islamic practice. It has been observed lately names which are meaningless in Arabic and many try to westernize the names of their children and subsequently become popular in Muslim societies. Through deductive analytical method the study tries to explain some commendable and prohibited names in addition to the practice of the Prophet in changing names. The study had concluded among others: the right of the son on his father is for the latter to choose for him a good name; a chosen name must bear a good meaning that contains glad tiding and optimism; names which have despicable meaning and contrary to Islam are prohibited.

Keywords: The Prophetic Tradition, Names, Changing names, Good names, Bad names.
2019-06-30T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c)
