The Journal Quantity Surveying and Construction Business (JQSCB) was first published in 2010 (ISSN 1985-8817). It was launched by the Honourable Rector of IIUM on 20th September 2011. JQSCB was commissioned and published by the Procurement and Project Delivery Systems Research Unit (PPDSRU), Kulliyyah of Architecture and Environmental Design (KAED). The Journal was intended to be issued twice a year.

The mission of the journal is to provide exemplary contribution to knowledge, skills, practices and management in the field of Quantity Surveying and Construction Business. In particular, this journal is intended to serve as a platform for academics/researchers/practitioners of KAED, IIUM, the region and beyond to report their research works, contribute ideas and report vital issues in education, training, research and development needs in quantity surveying and construction business management.
The key objective of JQSCB is to report research works related to quantity surveying and construction business. It focuses on the discipline of Quantity Surveying but also includes allied construction related disciplines namely Architecture, Engineering, Project Management and Construction Business.

JQSCB is considered unique. A search via the internet on construction sector related journals revealed that there is a gap in the literature discussing knowledge areas, skills, practices and management issues on quantity surveying and construction business. In addition, JQSCB provides chances of publications to KAED’s staff as well as to other researchers involved in quantity surveying and construction business
Area of Coverage
The aims and scope of the journal are to nurture the Quantity Surveying and Construction related Professionals on articles writing related to their research and professional interests. This journal will provide an avenue to the academic staff to enhance their intellectual level by reviewing and submitting research articles. The key areas of the JQSCB are in quantity surveying, construction business and management, construction engineering, construction law, construction economics, construction related environmental and sustainability issues, ethics and governance in construction and Shariah compliant in construction.
